Husam Alathari, MD
Dr. Alathari is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at George Washington Unviersity Medical Center. Dr. Alathari has over 15 years experience in serving clients with psychiatric disorders and substance abuse disorders. He is currently the outpatient medical director of the Inova Comprehensive Addiction Treatment Services and the Fairfax Methadone Treatment Center. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the International Society of Addiction Medicine.
Mona AbuHamda, Psy.D.
Dr. AbuHamda obtained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University. She is a full member of the American Psychological Association, The Virginia Psychological Association,The Washington Psychoanalytic Society and she is credentialed by the National Register for Health Care providers in Psychology. Dr. AbuHamda has worked in various in-patient and out-patient settings and has specialized in providing psychological services to adolescents, adults and families with with the range of disorders, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADD, relationships, sexual dysfunction, post-partum depression and impusle control disorders.
Mary Hart-Johnson, FNP, PMHNP
Mary Hart-Johnson earned an undergraduate degree from the Catholic University of America, and a graduate degree from the University of Virginia. She received her Board-Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in 2006, and has worked in both Primary Care and Internal Medicine private practices. She is also Board-Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is a Clinical Specialist in Psychiatry/Mental Health, and has worked in inpatient and community-based psychiatric settings. Ms. Hart-Johnson joined Washington Behavioral Health in 2009. Her education and experience enables her to focus on caring for individuals in an integrated, holistic manner. She has a particular interest in working with those who are experiencing anxiety and mood disorders, ADHD, Grief, and PTSD using a combination of medication and focused counseling to achieve an optimum level of mental and physical health.
Mike Borash, LPC
Mike BorashMikeMM<M is a Virginia State Licensed and National Certified Professional Counselor with over 30 years of clinical experience providing individual, group, family and relationship therapy. He holds baccalaureate and graduate degrees in Psychology and Counseling from James Madison University and has studied extensively with Harville Hendrix at the Institute for Relationship Therapy. Mike has been personally trained and certified by Dr. Hendrix to present the "Getting the Love You Want" workshop for couples as well as the "Keeping the Love You Find" workshop for individuals. He is a Clinical Instructor on the faculty of Imago Relationships International and provides certification training in Imago Relationship Therapy to mental health professionals worldwide.
In September of 1997, Mike was acknowledged by the Institute for Relationship Therapy as one of the ten most prolific workshop presenters in the United States. In a 1998 random sampling of 1500 medical and mental health professionals conducted by the Washingtonian Magazine, Mike was recognized by his colleagues as one of the top marital therapists in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area. His participant workshop and training evaluations are consistently outstanding and his presentation style has been described as dynamic yet warm, personable, engaging and humorous.
Additionally, Mike specializes in treating alcohol and drug dependency, co-dependency and alcoholic family systems.
